They were originally sold for £400 but then reduced to £200. I looked at advertising my one on ebay last year (may time) and felt I could probably get around £90 for it. I decided to keep it and use in the bedroom for DVD and music. In musical terms it is much better than most DVD players via analogue RCA.
I only used my 1920 for DVD sound via digital and via RCA for DSP surround sound via amp. I have a dedicated CD player for CD music.
Sounded Ok to me comparable to the 1400. The 1920 replaced a pioneer 575A which I found awful at sound, that is why I replaced with 1920.(the 1400 is on another system in another room)
Some DVD players can sound "tinny" but the 1920 sounded fine. It also has a direct button just like the 1400.
