Scan SC 2500 - any thoughts?

I see Scan are selling a new version of their own-branded DVD player, the SC 2500.

Anyone who has kicked around this forum for a while knows that their previous player, the SC2000, was widely discussed here, with many fans and opponents. As a SC2000 owner myself, I've been pretty pleased with the older player, and have only ever had one disc that wouldn't play (Ronin, rental copy). Picture and sound are good apart from the occasional pixellation with closeup skin tones.

Anyone bought the new player yet? Scan have no independent reviews up so far, but it looks like a good feature set for the money. Let's hope they've kept a close eye on the picture and sound quality this time, because there are many more cheap contenders to deal with than a year ago!

For those who are interested see http://www.scan.co.uk/sc2500.htm

(I don't work for Scan and I do not want to start a flame war).
