Pioneer DVD players

I currently own a Pioneer 575 amongst a few other players, and just wondered if Pioneer plan to release a "better" player soon which doesn't break the bank.
As I understand it, the 585 is *worse* than the 575 (though i'm unsure why this is the case).
Is the 668 going to be replaced this year?
Wasn't it launched in 2003?
Isn't it about time a new model was launched?

I know the 989 is released now which is replacing the 868, but im looking to spend £400 tops, i'm hoping a mid - high player will be released by Pioneer soon...?

585 is not worse than 575 in ways that you'd notice...it's just...well...newer...

There does seem to be a gap which a £200 Pioneer HDMI player would fill nicely.

Precisely, there is a big gap where the 585 stops and the 668 starts.

What is the price of a 668, about £450?

A £300 Pioneer player would do well I would say...

So is the 668 being discontinued?
