Region 1 playing probs

I own a Denon 3910 which was multi regioned by Sevenoaks when purchased. It was one of the first batch of 3910's when they came on to the market.
I have recently returned from the US with a batch of DVDs most of which are SUPERBIT along with a couple of normal discs.
The problem I am having is that all region 2 discs play perfect, no probs what-so-ever but when playing the region 1 discs the picture is jumpy and not smooth like the R2's. The sound is excellent but picture is awfull, even the highlighted parts on the menus of the discs do not line up with the parts they are meant to...

Any ideas how I can solve this problem.

Screen is Pioneer 505XDE, Denon 3806 all via HDMI connections.

have you checked if the discs have RCE encoding ?

quote from playusa.com :

Regional Coding Enhancement (RCE): has been added by Warner and Columbia to certain Region 1 DVD’s. RCE will prevent the DVD from playing on some “Multi-Region” DVD players.

that may be your problem ?

Lion, have looked on the rear of DVD cases and there is no RCE label that I can see. Is there a menu in the 3910 that can check for multi region set up?

Just to add they play and line up perfect on a Philips DVD player I got FREE when I bought the family room CRT TV.
