Eltax DVD-150 with Component/Progressive for under £30

I've just bought this cheap DVD player for £29.95 from Richer Sounds. I did not expect much for the price, but it's features and picture quality have really impressed me. It comes with Scart (RGB), S-Video and Componrnt (with Progressive Scan), as well well as Digital audio utput via coax. RGB picture looks nice, but component looks as good as my Pioneer 575. This is a great little player for a 2nd room. The only downside is that the remote is really nasty.

Hi

I just got one of these and where the PSCAN button is to enable progressive scan i have a RESET button. Result is i cannot enable Progessive scan on teh component output...

The online manual differs from the manual enclosed with the DVD player... so i wondered if anyone had purchased on of these and hit the same issues as me..

Pinged Eltax to see what they say..

Finally managed to get progressive scan working.

I had to press the V-Mode button a few times to cylce thorugh S-Video, RGB, YUV before it have to a YUV settign with progressive scan enabled...

Interesting to see what Eltax have to say about the manual though... i compared the english manual with the german manual enclosed with the box and the german manual pictures and handset layout is different as well..

But hten what woudl you expect for£40...

Remote control reset

I've got the Eltax dv-150. I bought it from Richersounds on Friday.
I've got the same problem re the reset button being where the pscan button should be. I canned Richersounds and they opened a new box
and found that the remote's the same as mine. It appears they've been
sent the wrong remotes. I've tried to use the v-mode button but
it doesn't seem to give a progressive scan mode. Pprovart, is that the
only button you pressed or is it a combination of other ?

Hi,

I pressed the Video Mode button several times..

It cycles through Scart, SVHS and Component, but every other component input will be progessive..so i dont need the PSCAN button.

Just bought it from Ebuyer £20+P&P. Had the same problem regarding no Pscan button and I contacted Eltax and awaiting a responce but it seems you may have the answer.

Cannot try it as I am waiting for my component cables, but are you saying that when you cycle through the outputs that the first cycle is interlaced, and on the next cycle it is progressive, is that how it works ?

Does it stay on this setting for the next time you use it ?

For anyone interested, tried it with Scart on a CRT to test it was working and it seems a cracking unit for £20, quiet and quick and great picture, multi region out of the box.
