Arcam dv88 only black&white??

picked up avr200&dv88 yesterday .can only get a black and white picture any Ideas anybody?

Could be a number of things.

Is your TV in S-Video mode but you don,t have the S-lead connected ?

DVD player is not in S-video mode ?

Are you playing region 1 DVD and your Tv is not NTSC compatible ?

Probably the DVD player is outputting an s-video signal to a TV which either cannot accept or is not set for s-video

Thanks for the advice, but I finally cracked it .It was the tv which is also new a 36pL30. where I had not hit the av switch under the front cover!.What a revelation the dv88 is compared to my sons P2!
