Dumb Question

I have a Denon 1920, hooked up via HDMi to my new Benq PE7700.

Will I get a better picture with HDMI set to 720P, or to 1080i?
I know progressive is meant to be better than interlaced, but not sure on this one!

Thanks for any info.

try both and see what looks better to you.....it can even vary depending on disc which one looks better, i have this with my 3910 to Infocus 7205 PJ......some films i use HDMI, sometimes 576p, sometimes 720p, sometimes 1080i (altho rarely tbh), sometimes i dont use the HDMI but instead use normal Component connection, find it better for some films.....

so best thing is to watch and see what you prefer...lol

As Knight Byte says it's best to try each to see which looks best.

Theoretically...

576p will look best if the scaler in the PJ is better then the scaler in the player

720p will look best if the scaler in the player is better then the scaler in the PJ

1080i should look worse than 576 and 720 because you are scaling both in the player and in the PJ

...but in reality it's best simply to "suck it and see"...PJ
