Best Quality DivX/DVD Player for around £50

...must have component out and progressive scan capabilities. I currently have the DK Digital 500 player, but am not overly impressed by it's PQ overall.

What's the Samsung P244 like ?

Any recommendations welcomed

...or HDMI connection if poss

See other threads about LG / Targa etc and make sure you update to the latest firmware.

best sub £50 dvd / divx player

Just bought a Philips DVP720SAS from Dabs.com for £48 delivered.
It plays Divx no probs, SACD compatible, prog Scan , and component out.
The picture quality is best I've seen even on my 6year old 50 Hz Philips WS TV.
Surround sound via RCA analogue outputs is also good quality IMHO.
Only gripe is its lack of Master Volume control, if not for this I would rate it 10/10. I emailed Philips and they say this may be resolved with a future Firmware upgrade.
Ordered mine on Sunday when they showed 38 in stock, looking elswhere are usually about £130, or £86 at Amazon I think, so at £48 Its a bargain for this quality + Divx.

Cheers

Yeah, just to agree with Spudbox, great player esp for divx (where my Tosh 340 was terrible). Using component out on my Hitachi LCD, excellent. It was going to be for bedroom but have ended up using it as my main one.
