Cheap player connecting to projector

Hi all, I've asked in the projector section of the forum with no luck. I'm looking at getting the Epson EMP-S3 projector (or something very similar) to connect to my DVD player (cheap £50 ALBA one, can't remember model, but really nothing special!!) and do presentations. I want to attach some speakers to my DVD player as well but I think I need an AMP (correct ??).

If so, will something like this do:

If it won't can somebody suggest what I need to do.

Yes. the output from a DVD player is very low power - line level. These outputs need to be fed into an amp before connecting to speakers otherwise you wont hear anything as there wont be enough power to move the speakers.

Well that is a car amp that runs off a 12v power supply, so not really ideal.

Depending on the volume, quality etc then you could probably get away with a set of powered (ie amp built in) PC speakers.
If you want/need better quality then you can go up to small PA setups etc. Let us know if you need more details and I'll see what I can find.

Oh yeah, didn't notice the in-car bit, just searched for AMPs !! What an idiot !!

So a decent set of say Logitech speakers with built-in AMP should suffice ?? I don't need home cinema surround sound quality, but as long as it sounds good then thats the main thing, so a pair of PC speakers would be ideal, and fairly portable as well considering I'll be travelling to do these presentations.

As I said, it all depends on the situation as to wheather PC speakers will be ok.
If you are doing a presentation in a large room then I doubt PC speakers will be good enough, therefore active PA/Studio speakers may be more appropriate like These but will of course cost more money. They will however be more professional.
