Denon 1710 - Buffer Memory - Does it work?

Hi all
I recently bought a Denon 1710, based on the positive reviews in the press and those on this site. I was also especially interested in the buffer memory feature to remove the 'pause' that occurs during layer change. However, it doesn't seem to work. Every DVD I have tried that has a layer change pauses for about a second before resuming play. Worst culprits are the Star Wars DVDs. Does anybody know if this is a feature that needs to be enabled?

Nope its active by default, its meant to reduce layer change but may not remove it completely.
