Post Pioneer 505 & DTS

This is an old DVD player, but having upgraded my reciever I need to know if this player can output DTS.

It recognises its outputting DTS when display is pressed it says DTS, but I get no sound from the amp.

The amp is the yammy620.... help.

It can't - I used to have this player & have tested it with DTS disks.

Sorry.

I concur; the 505 won't output the DTS bitstream. IMHO, the lack of DTS is not, in itself, enough reason to replace your player. DD is arguably just as good as DTS, although I have no doubt that others here will feel that there are audible differences. In my experience, these differences are more likely to be due to differences in the audio mix rather than intrinsic differences in the performance of the two systems.

As I suspected, thanks fellas & I do agree about the DD/DTS thing the difference is really not that significant.

But it would be nice to have it anyway.
