Post Does Toshiba SD200E play SVCD/miniDVD's?

Does anyone know if the Toshiba SD200E plays SVCD's and miniDVD's?

I've checked the vcdhelp web site but they don't know.

Thanks.

Point me in the direction to download an SVCD, I'll burn it and let you know, as I am curious myself.
Any size is OK, got a cable modem

If anyone really wants one.. I can help..

But, its bad news.. The Toshiba SD-200E doesn't play them. I have tried several, and have tested many different SVCDs which work fine on other players.

It just reports 'disk error'.

This is the same story as the Pioneer 737.. The 525 plays them fine, but the 737 doesn't... Looks like SVCD support isn't 'standard' after all.

I am trying to find someone who has a 500E, who might be willing to test this for me, as I am in the market for a new player and I want SVCD support.

That must be why a disc [pirated Voyager]that works in my PC doesn't work in my SD200E.
Oh well

Perhaps this is 'fixed' on the soon to be released SD210.

I emailed Tosh and had the following reply:

"SD110 25% shallower in depth but same features at the SD100

SD210 Home cinema DVD with CD-R and MP3

Scheduled for April release."
