Which DVD player? Advice needed.

Hi all

Does anyone have expierence of any of these DVD players - who would kindly relay their expierence to me.

I currently have a crudy Sony DVD player that is about 4 years old now, so I am looking to replace it with a new one. To take advantage of all the new technologies out there.

I have narrowed the list down to:

Philips DVP-720SA
Pioneer DV-575A
Denon DVD-1710

All these players retail at around the £120 mark.

I need to be able to play DVD-R, as I use alot of back ups of my own DVD library.

Any help would be greatfully received.

Cheers All

Hi,

I have the Pioneer 575, plays everything I have ever thrown at it. DVD +/- R, CDR etc..

Plays DivX but the picture seemed to stutter a little on playback. Investigating this at the moment and seems to be a solution involving using a utility to modify the b-frames in the DivX file. I might have picked this up incorrectly but its all interesting stuff.

Plays my DVD-A discs also ( and my one solitary SACD Dark Side of the Moon disc ), so all in all very happy with it.

Regards
