| Worth Upgrading Sony DVP-730P DVD Player?
Hi All,
I could use some advice if you have the time. I've currently got a Sony DVP-730P PAL progressive scan DVD player hooked up to my Infocus 5700 projector via component cables. The two are a good match the DVD's 576 lines maps 1:1 to the Infocus 576x1024 DLP chip. Overall I'm very happy with the image though, if I could increase the sharpness of the image a touch that would be great.
I've got a birthday approaching and was wondering if there are any other DVD players out there I should consider? I have to stick with a component connection as the cables are run through the walls so DVI is not an option at this stage. DVD players that come to mind are the Sony DVP-780P (is this any different from the 730P?), the Denon 2910 or 3910 (I'm only interested in video performance, but the green push issue has me concerned) or maybe try and track down a 2900. Or maybe the performance improvements wouldn't be worth it against the cost of the player and I should stick with the 730P until i can figure out a way to run DVI?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Stephen
