DVD/A SACD Problem

Hi
Can any one help me ? I have a Denon 2900 into a Harman Kardon avr430
amp. Alls working well except I dont seem to be getting much if any base
out of the sub on DVD/A and SACD.
On the set up screen all I can adjust is the channel level inc the base, but
dont no if any LFE is going through to the sub.
Thanks

Mike.

Do you have the 6 channell output of the dvd player in to the 6 channell input of the amp. I could be completely wrong but I think DVDA and SACD only come out of the 6 channell output as no decoder can decode it?

Raise

Somewhere in the 2900 setup there should be a sound option that raises the bass by 10dB to conform to the sacd standard- it's called rather cryptically as I remember...

Yes all connected up corrctly,I'll try turning up the bass setting to
+10db, I did'nt fancy turning the setting up to its maximum, but if thats
what I should do then i'll give it a go.

Thanks

Mike.

Also keep in mind there is no standard for m/c mixes in either SACD or DVD-A. LFE is not necessarily present, nor are all channels necessarily active in m/c mode. I have a DVD-A that is 4.0, I have 3.0 SACDs as well as the "standard" 5.1 discs. There are also some DVD-As (from Chesky records, I believe) that are 6.0, utilizing the sixth channel as a "height" channel--never heard one, just read about them.
