pioneer 737

i currently have a pioneer dv 737. it is a great machine but i really want pal progressive scan - the pioneer only does ntsc.

now that this model is about 3 to 4 years old would the current crop of £250 - £350 pal progressive players (cambridge audio azur, harman-kardon etc.) match up to the pioneer 737?

cheers

Possibly not...

Just swapped my 737 for a Denon A11 and I'm struggling to get a picture I'm happy with, with the new machine.

The 737 is a super player...

then you have got a problem as the 737 in no way compares with the A11.

my parents have my old 737, and it looks low res in comparison.
make sure your A11 is set to 0ire and not 7.5ire
