A1 or XA1 for an Exposed Cabinet?

I'm thinking of taking the plunge here too

Everyone says the A1 is a bit frumpy , whereas the Xa1 is a bit of a stunner relatively speaking - there is the price difference of course, but in a case where the palyer was going to be on display in an open fronted cabinet, do you think the XA1 would be a better buy?

Just wondering what you guys think?

I know the performance and picture quality will be the same but......

I would go for the AX1. I did and it is great. Love the motorised flap
at the front. The chassis is also a lot heavier than the A1. I see you have
good design taste anyway. ( I'm a Mini owner too!!) and VP30 owner it works
great with that through HDMI.

I am tempted by the X alright, and I'd have to be honest, its the looks that do it for me

Yep, love the MINI, its an S Works. wife drives it most of the time, but I hijack it at weekends

OT, if you want a good forum for MINI info, try www.MINI2.com - if you aren't there already

I just read in this months Home Theater mag that they
don't recommend putting it in a cabinet. They ripped it open to
check out the cooling, fans .... and they say it runs hot like a pc.
Maybe ok if you have good circulation, not a issue for me as it
just sits on an open shelf.

I have been on MINI2.COM, cool forum....
Like you, ours is her's but mine when I need it

Get an A1 Aiden (Mine looks great)
Alternatively you could look at the D1/RCA versions

The remote looks better than I expected

IMO the extra $$$ for the XA1 is not justified.

The A1 is bulky but i tend to watch the HD image the screen and not spend all day looking at the unit

DO NOT look or get the RCA version. That is one ugly mother f****r of a unit

Cheers Aiden!
Do you think there is a correlation between MINI ownership and a desire for high tech gadgets?

I'm still holding off - can't bring myself to commit with the current uncertainty - plus I have a new Arcam DV 79 coming soon - not sure what to do - perhaps a R1 HD player would be an excellent complimentary player to it?

Add one more to that list!

gIzzE on mini2, although don't post on there that much as it is my wifes car and as soon as I start posting on a forum I start spending money!
And I would rather spend it on my own car.
