philips dvp5960 hack required ?

anyone know if there is a multi-region hack for this player ?

was thinking of buying it from argos, but they dont advertise any of their players as multi-region anymore (although they definately used to at one time , coz friend bought one, and was multi region out of the box)

any help on this would be gratefully recieved.

If you go to the dvd players forum and type Phillips dvp5960 in the search box there is a massive thread which has loads of info on this dvd player. I bought the phillips a couple of months ago and think it's a great buy!

1. Turn on the unit
2. Open the loading tray
3. Press the "Setup" button on the remote
4. Navigate to the "Preferences" page using the right arrow key
5. Enter 138931
6. You will now see the current region code displayed
7. Use the Up/Down arrow keys to select the region required or "0" for all regions
8. Press the "Play" button on the remote

Apparently this will work on the NEW 5980 as well.
