Yes (except for Casino Royale of course) they're simply re-issued with new gold covers.

These new releases don't have the excellent informative booklets that were in each of the previous "Ultimate" 2 disc sets.

Now this does look promisingly like an eventual £50 price mark in an H.M.V. type sale.

I do have the ' Casino Royale (2006) - Daniel Craig ' in Blue Ray .. as who does not? .. but many of the Franchise are simply not worth buying in blue ray - basically anything not featuring Sean Connery until we hit the recent ' Casino Royale (2006) - Daniel Craig ' - especially those featuring Roger Moore, who by his own admission has an acting range that runs from ' left eyebrow raised, right eyebrow raised to both eyebrows raised '

Why would I buy anything featuring the worst Bond ever?

It's in Blue Ray and is still a pretty good example of its kind as a Demo Disk. But also the Craig Bond is as close as we have yet come to the Bond of the original novels ... you have read those novels haven't you ?

NO ? BAD lad ! Lower your hand and go to the back of the class with a copy of Flemings 'Casino Royale until you have done so!

" ‘A dry martini,’ Bond said. ‘In a deep champagne goblet. Three measures of Gordons, one of Vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it’s ice cold, then add a thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?’ ‘Certainly, monsieur.’ Introducing James Bond: charming, sophisticated, handsome; chillingly ruthless and very deadly. This, the first of Fleming’s tales of agent 007, finds Bond on a mission to neutralize a lethal, high-rolling Russian operative called simply ‘The Cypher’ – by ruining him at the Baccarat table and forcing his Soviet spymasters to ‘retire’ him. It seems that lady luck is taken with James – The Cypher has hit a losing streak. But some people just refuse to play by the rules and Bond’s attraction to a beautiful female agent leads him to disaster and an unexpected saviour … "

No, I haven't, but then again I see no problem with that. I can enjoy the movie (or not) without having read the book.

E.g. I've read all of Isaac Asimov's work and I love the movie I, Robot although it has very little to do with the author's work and even less with the spirit of his writings.
Should I hate the movie because of that? No.

BTW: the correct term is Blu-ray.

No problem as such .. are you Sure that you've read all of Asimov?

" In December 1974, the former Beatle Paul McCartney approached Asimov and asked him if he could write the screenplay for a science-fiction movie musical. McCartney had a vague idea for the plot and a small scrap of dialogue; he wished to make a film about a rock band whose members discover they are being impersonated by a group of extraterrestrials. The band and their impostors would likely be played by McCartney's group Wings, then at the height of their career. Intrigued by the idea, although he was not generally a fan of rock music, Asimov quickly produced a "treatment" or brief outline of the story. He adhered to McCartney's overall idea, producing a story he felt to be moving and dramatic. However, he did not make use of McCartney's brief scrap of dialogue, and probably in consequence, McCartney rejected the story. The treatment now exists only in Boston University's archives "

Ah, well Asimov started writing long long ago and the original ' I, Robot ' wouldn't really work as a feature film but it is entirely possible that one of these days a version of I Robot will appear that is closer to the original story though .. I would prefer to see a decent version of 'The Caves Of Steel '

Good Grief .. I'm not going to argue over 'correct 'spelling of Blu Ray .. or where the hypen should go and so on. Does it matter? I tend to use the terms interchangeably and Blue Ray typed in a search box will get you to the right place from e bay to Amazon and all points between.

Seriously though the original Bond novels are worth reading and the character of Bond as Fleming saw him in those books is much more accurately reflected as played by Craig than it is ,say, in my favorite Bond film " You Only Live Twice "

It is a pity that they couldn't have set the film in the cold war period but they did do pretty well with a 'cold war ' ambiance in Craig's 'Casino Royale ' and Craig is, in my opinion, the 'Best Bond ' since Connery .. for a given value of Bond.

Arnold.
