Pokemon Heart Gold & Soul Silver

Link: Official Pokemon Website Announcement

Well the official site has now confirmed the existence of these two DS games. These are remakes of the incredible original Pokemon Gold & Silver on the Game Boy Color. Not much information is known at this point until Sunday when the Pokemon Sunday variety show airs and when Corocoro is published. They are set for an Autumn 2009 release in Japan, most likely September so the newest movie can promote them (because the Gold/Silver starter pokemon star in them).

Personally, I cannot wait for these to be released. Pokemon Gold & Silver for me was the best generation of pokemon games. All I Hope for is that Game Freak dont change them too much from the originals. Hopefully they'll keep Kanto in there.

Confirmed Features/Information:
  • Release Date in Japan: Saturday 12th September 2009
  • SRP: ¥4800
  • Both Heart Gold & Soul Silver will come bundled with a Pokewalker (more on that below)
  • Male and Female trainers [which wasnt avaliable in the original G/S]
  • The starter Pokemon is shown to follow you around in other cities, so it's not just a "beginning of the game" aspect.
  • Kanto/Pokemon League area is visible on the Johto map (see below for map).
  • Some kind of event utilizing the Pikachu-Colored Pichu.

Rumoured Features/Information:
  • Kanto/Pokemon League area is visible on the Johto map.
  • Bicycles and skateboards
  • Expanded Wi-Fi features - like in Platinum and possibly more

Here is the official announcement/gameplay clip from the Japanese TV show, 'Pokemon Sunday':

These are scans from the latest edition of CoroCoro:

In-Depth Information/Images:

As you can see from the pics below and from the video clip, it looks like you'll be able to have your starter pokemon follow you around just like in Pokemon Yellow.

Anyone else love the original Gold & Silver and looking forward to these remakes???

Re: Pokemon Heart Gold & Soul Silver

I used to love the originals, used to play with my cousins who still had them. Can't wait for these to come out in the UK.
My cousin started shouting like a little girl once I told him, but my auntie's mad at me now for telling him, he's going to want a DS.
Keep it posted with the latest news if possible. Its also available gonintendo I believe. I can get japanese TV, unfortunately don't know the channels it comes on. TV Tokyo is all I really use though

Yes you can import these. You should try some import sites like Play-Asia: Heart Gold / Play-Asia: Soul Silver
