Rhythm Heaven

Has anyone played this game? It's not out here yet but recently released in US. It's bloody brilliant and I don't even like rhythm games!

Re: Rhythm Heaven

Well I'd never heard of this game before you mentioned it but this clip on YouTube YouTube - Rhythm Heaven DS Footage! makes it look pretty impressive. It looks a kind of mad, minimalist-type of game. It's going to be released over here on the 1st of May and will be called Rhythm Paradise instead (according to both Wikipedia and Game's website). I'll keep my eye out for reviews and may be tempted to get it. Thanks for the heads-up Abvance!

Re: Rhythm Heaven

Why change the name to Rhythm Paradise? Anyway, at least you don't have to wait long. It does get quite tough later.

Re: Rhythm Heaven

I'm with Abvance on this one. It's a brilliant game and easy to pick up and play for a few mins (if you have enough will power to not end up totally addicted).

Also, I bet they change the name over here becuase Rhythm "Heaven" may not be accepted so well in Europe where there is great diversity. Whereas Americans consider themselves to be a predominantly Christian society.

That's my reckoning anyway.

Re: Rhythm Heaven

Well Rhythm Paradise has had it's review in the new issue of the official Nintendo magazine and they've given it 82%. They mainly complained about how short the game was saying: "Like seeing a fantastic movie that only lasts 75 minutes, it's great but over all too quickly". Apart from that they loved it and summed it beautifully by saying: "It's crazier than a gang of chipmunks pouring jam into a big bag full of spanners".

lol. That review made me laugh. Anything that ONM say though I usually mark down by 3-5% as they nearly always overate games. Though this game is the exception for me.

I have this and it does make me laugh my ass off. It probably is a bit short but I think it should be taken as a game too fill some time whilst waiting for the bus, or whilst sitting on the loo, or whilst waiting for my pile of cack laptop to boot up!

I digress. If you want some whacky fun then this is great. Probably one of those games you should get on trade in.

Good thinking Batman! I know what you mean by ONM overrating most of their game reviews though.

Re: Rhythm Heaven

Is it just me or is this one hard game to get anywhere with?! I'd say I'm a pretty good gamer, but the mini games in this seem ridiculously difficult. I've played it for several hours now, and managed to unlock 6 levels. To be in with a chance of getting a medal you have to get a near perfect run. I've just unlocked the table-tennis level and I'm buggered if I can return more than 1 or 2 shots!!
