Quite an odd sound problem

But when the DS is first turned on, the intro/loading sounds different

I took a quick video, not the best though - YouTube - DSCF1853

The sound however seems fine elsewhere and in headphones, only a few places outside of games that sound quiet or high pitched

Admittidly, i don't play it that much but even so i dont think i can forget such a minor sound

Is it the odd "ticking" sound in the vid?

From that, it sounds like distortion with any high pitch (which include the startup "tinkle").....which means your speakers are damaged. The thin plastic diaphragm (if damaged/torn) will "flutter" in high energy situations and cause a chattering sound more audible when higher energy waves/pitch are produced. Common in cheap speakers, but i've never come across this in the DS before.
Can you confirm it's only on high pitch sounds?

did you have birthday? Isnt this special DS birthday sound ?
