*** Important (and popular) DS threads *** READ THIS FIRST!

We thought it would be useful to sticky up a single thread with links to all the most oft discussed topics in here.
Have a read through as it may save you having to start a new thread (most are self-explanatory).

The Nintendo DS Wikipaedia Entry.....the basics of the console, also contains re-direct links to the new DSi.

Display related:

The Screen Protectors Thread

The Dead Pixels Thread

The Screen Repairs Thread.

Internet/Online related:

The Official Nintendo WiFi Website for the DS, as the title suggests.......click on "Tech Support" in the top bar to navigate to Basic Info, Router Info, Connection Support and Gaming Support.

There are also many threads concerning specific routers so do a "DS Forum" search beforehand to check it hasn't been asked before (the DS Online Gaming Sub-Section is here).

Homebrew related:

Before I go on, can I categorically state that AVForums in no way condones Piracy. Please do NOT discuss game piracy OR FLASHCARTS in ANY of these threads. Threads/Posts which stray into this are will be deleted.

Homebrew Discussion: Anything about the hundreds of LEGAL homebrew games/apps, as well as the latest apps/utilities releases discussion to go here please (so, for instance, if you want to discuss how a new homebrew allows a particular type of file browsing stick it in here). If you want to talk about the latest port of a particular game like e.g. Asteroids, it goes here. If you want to find out details about a new utility that checks the integrity of the microSD card, it goes here....etc etc.

ALL Flashcart Discussion Thread: All Carts (both slot-1 and slot-2) are now ILLEGAL in Europe and therefore CANNOT BE DISCUSSED here on AVForums. This is the same as our "no piracy" policy.

Buying Advice: That goes for buying said illegal devices too.

UPDATE: "heeeeeuurrrghhhhsshhhhhhhuueeeuuuuuuhhhehhehhuhuh uuhhhhhhhhhhuhnnnnnggghhhhhhhsssseh"
D'ya hear that folks? Yes, that's right.....that's the collective sigh of all us mods when despite banging ON AND ON about the SAME TOPIC again and again, the less "neuronally endowed" of you STILL insist on creating extra flashcart related threads/posts INSTEAD OF POSTING HOMEBREW IN THE EXISTING ONE AS CLEARLY EXPLAINED HERE............sheesh .
We'll try it simply here again for you:
Any new flashcart threads that pop up which DO NOT involve homebrew alone will MOST PROBABLY get either locked (if you're lucky) or simply DELETED.
OK?
Good .

UPDATE 2: Firstly, to most "normal" users out there, I'm sure this is getting as boring for you as it is to us mods - apologies. However, it appears that people STILL cannot grasp the simple concept illustrated here.
So here's yet another clarification. If you ask about flashcarts - EVEN IF YOU TRY TO "LEGITIMISE" THE Q BY ADDING IN SOMETHING ABOUT DS'S IN GENERAL OR DISPLAYS OR ANYTHING - you have still asked about flashcarts and thus it will be locked or simply deleted BECAUSE THEY ARE ILLEGAL.
Tell you what, seeing as you're all so hard at convincing, here's an incentive for ya:
If you post about Piracy or Illegal flashcarts, not only will you get an infraction, BUT ANYONE WHO REPLIES GIVING INFO ABOUT PIRACY OR ILLEGAL DEVICES WILL GET AN INFRACTION TOO.
Mmmmmmmkayyyyyy? .

Other:

The DS Rumble Pack Thread

The Official Cracked Hinge Discussion Thread

The Single Cart/ & Rumble Enabled Games Thread, from the DS Games subsection.

The Official "how much is my ds worth?" thread, please post here for valuation advice for your DS phat / DS lite / DSi.

The best place to get a DS Phat/Lite/i (Package deals etc) thread, updates on stock alerts and good deals.

^^^^ If any other thread becomes overly popular/requiring many merges, we'll stick it in here to make it easier to find . Remember to please ensure you use the Search function prior to posting (as your Q has usually been asked before) and re-check that you are indeed posting in the correct place.
