Help needed (i think?)

Now, i don;t want to break any laws or forums rules, so please let me know.

I just bought a DS, and i hear you can download game demos.

The guy at gamestop said there was a way i could download these games to my DS from my PC/wireless card. I'm not sure if this is "legal" so i want to ask before i venture forward.

Any help with this would be great!

I'm not sure what the gamestop guy's on about tbh, the only ways that I'm aware of are either through using wifi at a demo kiosk (usually found at certain shops etc.), through your wii or through methods that could be considered "illegal" - but not via the method that you've been told (AFAIK).

Re: Help needed (i think?)

yeah, i dont want to download like roms or anything. I dont want any full free games.

If i cant do it, thats fine. Last thing i want to do is anything illegal.

I just wanted to try that brain age game. I saw there was demo, but didn;t want to go to gamestop to download the free trial

Re: Help needed (i think?)

A DS can, using it's inbuilt WLAN adapter, download trial and demo versions of games from either a dedicated download station (usually found in games stores) or from the Nintendo Channel on the Wii.. .. .. .. if you've got a Wii Omnifox then get the Nintendo Channel.

When you turn the DS on and get past the mandatory "Health and Safety" screen, you have the option for Download Play. Touch that and your DS will search for available demos / two player games within about 10 feet of you.

Re: Help needed (i think?)

yes, but the OP is saying that the guy from gamespot said that he could get it wirelessly from his own PC. Again, something that I haven't heard of being possible legally.

Re: Help needed (i think?)

Yes, you can download(or would it be upload?) game demos to your DS legally. There are several ways of doing this, shop demo pods, also some Wii games contain DS versions or demos.

Geometry Wars Wii for example includes a DS downloadable demo of the DS version of the game, and the WiiWare game MaBoShi: The Three Shape Arcade actually contains a full mini DS version of the game to download.

Taken from WiiWareWorld Re. MaBoShi http://www.wiiware-world.com/reviews...e_shape_arcade

if you have a Nintendo DS, you can send a download version of the game to it. In the DS version, there is just one playing field, and your DS is held sideways so that the screen is vertically aligned like the WiiWare version, using the d-pad for control in all games. The DS version has downgraded graphics, understandably, but the gameplay and music are intact. If you like the game and would like to take it with you on the go, this is perfect.

Hi.
I assume you're talking about the normal DS settings menu? i.e. things like resetting the clock or typing in your gaming name? In which case, yes, upon exit, the DS reboots the system....similar to what the Wii does.
AFAIK, there is no way around this.

If you're talking about flashcarts, there is a solution to the "reset the game into menu rather than reboot" problem in the flashcart thread.

Re: Help needed (i think?)

yeah, i don;t mind the reboot. Except it doesnt simply reboot, it turns the system off, and i have to turn it on again. I'd rather it just turn itself back on ><

but thanks for the info!
