looking for a mario like game

helo guys, my kids have been addicted to new super mario brothers for the past few weeks but have now completed it...i was just wondering if there are any similar games out there?

are there any other 2-d mario games on ds? or any games much the same?

Depends how old your kids are but I recommend Yoshi's Story......very similar as in it's a platformer done in typical "nintendo" style and is excellent (imho).

Super Princess Peach might be worth a try – it's meant to be quite easy but that may not be such an issue if it's for kids. It's a platform game in the Mario style, complete with familiar characters from NSMB. Haven't played it myself, but I'd be interested in hearing what it's like, if anyone has (I'm thinking of girlfriend-friendly games here, again

).

It's not bad but to me it feels a bit less fluid, a bit disjointed, compared to NSMB or Yoshi's Island. The actual levels themselves are ok and the usual Nintendo platform action it's just .. .. .. .. I can't quite put my finger on it.. .. .. .. .. it's not a bad game, it's actually quite a good game but .. .. .. .. I think if I'd never played the other two I'd like SPP more. If that makes sense.

'Mario and Luigi Partners in Time' might also be worth checking out. Ihaven't played it myself but the girlfriend has been and she says it's good.

^^^It is extremely good, but is nothing like NSMB. It's more of an RPG, with no real platforming element, but with a bit of action. It's very tongue in cheek, with lots of in jokes. Definitely worth a go, but not sure if it'd be a great NSMB substitute.
