I was tempted to buy one of the finest hack'n'slash games around from the PSN store the other day (£3.50 for Gauntlet II) ..........until.........




.......I found out it's coming to the DS :




Well, OK, it's not Gauntlet II but is actually an updated new version of Gauntlet built for the DS:

The important things to note are:

• 4 Player cooperative, both over WiFi and local connection
• You're pretty "free roaming".....i.e. not restricted to the same screen for all four of you at the same time. So you can go to one corner of the room and your 3 friends wander off down an alley and you're all still in the same game/level .
• Looks GREAT .

So I'm contemplating getting The Last Guy instead and waiting for this version on the DS (out Feb 09 in EU I think).

Anyone else have their appetite whetted?

Gaffer, you can consider my appetite to be sufficiently whet! I too used to love playing Gauntlet and the videos you provided make it look great on the DS. I shall keep my eyes peeled for this one!

Oh dear it looks like this game is now dead! Gaming - News - 'Gauntlet DS' axe rumoured - Digital Spy I saw this article and unfortunately I think Gauntlet DS is no more, it has ceased to be, it is an ex-Gauntlet DS etc etc

Hey! a weird question but you need to answer.

Don't you think the concept of Gauntlet is based (partially) upon War Craft and partially on Dungeon's and Dragons?

I may be wrong but there doesn't seem any excitement in the game play.
