This looks interesting and it has a really good review on IGN

Sounds like a strange hybrid of Final Fantasy, Pokemon, and Jet Set Radio - could be good!

Notable also that it's out in Europe before the US.

I just love these kinds of quirky games that you only seem to get on the DS, like Ouendan/Elite Beat, Professor Layton etc.

Its a fine game but the combat is completely overwhelming. I've had the game 24 hours now and still have not got the hang of it. Hopefully in time.

It takes a while to get used to, but you can leave the top screen on auto pilot while you get the hang of it. I attack with Neku then when the monsters are far away from him, I focuse on the top screen, and rinse and repeat. It's a pretty fun battle system once you get used to it.

As I've just completed my first runthrough of the game, and it's just been given IGN DS's game of the Year, I thought I'd just re-vitalise this thread and say that I think it's a brilliant game. Such a refreshing change on the RPG scene; I'd love to see if Jupiter/Square-Enix take it further as a franchise. If you like RPGs, and you haven't played this, you should really give it a look. As mentioned above, the dual controls take a while to get hold of, but it's well worth it. Also has a brilliant soundtrack to boot.

Sadly, it looks like it's suffering from "Layton's Syndrome", and appears to be extremely difficult to get hold of.

If so I personally think that's a good thing. I get fed up with all the simple pick up and play type games on the DS. I'm hoping GTA: Chinatown Wars will be another game with some more depth.

I didn't mean difficult to get into (which Layton isn't, incidentally). I meant it was near impossible to find a copy of the game for sale, either online or on the high street.

That still appears to be the case with TWEWY, sadly.

Sorry I thought you meant get a hold of the controls. I haven't played Layton yet either so that would make sense.

I had this game and I just couldn't play it, end of, in an RPG game the battle system is everything to me and if I don't like it, the game probably wont get played.

I like simple battle systems and this was just too much for my little brain to handle, my head nearly exploded when you had to control two characters.

It is a shame though, as I really liked the visuals and the story seemed nice, can't believe what a high rating it got on gamespot
