When the game starts, select "Wi-Fi"
Then select "Friend Settings"
Then select "Confirm Friend Code"
Then tell us your two rows of 6 numbers!

Let us know your code and we might be able to play each other

Hackers can't do anything with your friend code.......nor would they want to .

The DS has been out for years now and nothing has come of sharing friend codes. Saying that hackers can do devious things with a friend code is exactly like saying they can do something with your gamername on XBL .

In short, please stop scare mongering. Handing out friend codes is perfectly safe and it's what they're there for after all .

I think the only exception to Gaffers comments above is Animal Crossing where if I understand it correctly people can lock you out of your own town or something along those lines(don't play AC myself). Haven't heard of any similar issues with any other online DS game.

In AC, this involves allowing someone access to your town, and they then plant a tree in front of your house, thus making it difficult for you to exit. I don't think it's a firmware/software hack, it's just an oversight on the game's part that allows visitors to plant trees in access routes (a very bizarre oversight imo ).
I think it's more an aberration of the game than a true "hack".

Then there's the action replay style cheats that give things like infinite wealth wealth etc, but those are for use in your own game....
