Well as promised here is the thread for the community group I've
Fairly straight forward to join. Select communities from the online multiplayer section then select join and enter this code:

You can create more custom rules like no items, shells/bananas etc but have just set it as default for now. I can always create a custom one or if anyone else does just post the code and game rules on here and ill update this post.

Oh and you need to have played at least one online game before it will let you create a community.

Hi addy, just got mariokart7 today, cant seem to join any races online, have you been able to race any?

Iam a little underwelmed with the speed of the game, maybe its just the 50 and 100cc that are slightly mundane. Plays very well tho and looks excellent.

Yeah I've had quite a few races online. Connects no problem for me. In fact just won my first race on maple treeway. Oh and 50cc and 100cc are dull as dishwater on the single player. 150cc is where its at, but that's always been the case.

Really good game - difference between me keeping and selling 3DS I think.

Will update OP later with a list of friend codes. Judging by the lack of popularity on here so far its probably best we just add each other as friends. At least then we can check in the mariokart channel who's currently playing and join each others games.

I expect popularity will pick up soon, especially after Christmas. I think lots of people have been holding off buying the console and waiting for the big games to start coming through... like me!

that was a few good races earlier addyb, couple of nice wins for both of us but its mega frustrating also mate, was that you on the wii coconut mall in the lead last lap then a blue shell killed you, its heartbreaking whenever it happens.
Glad i finally got online and had a few games with you mate

What do you think of the 3DS then.
for me its worth buying one just for mario land and kart.

Yep I well and truly got shafted on that One. Just done the snow level (can't remember name) and got knocked off the side 4 times and finished 8th. I also just got knocked off the side 3 times on snes rainbow road!! Arggghhh heartbreaking indeed but also really addictive. I'm a huge mariokart fan so will always play this until the next version. Just simply brilliant online. Yes its unfair at times but feels so good when your nailing someone. Hit someone with a green shell from miles away before. Amazing shot!!
Just wish it showed player names above the players so you know who's who. Or at the very least show friend names.

Well I've only had a couple of games of MK7 online and I can confirm I am terrible! Anyway, I've added the AVF community to MK7 and my friend code is: 2277-6972-9778.

I'll add everyone else's friend codes too. Are we meeting for regular games or just as when people are available?

Well the community will only be a good idea if you get numbers of 20+ imo. For now I just check my friends list before I launch the game and if anyone's playing it online I get the option to join there game. It works really well and I've had a few games with fellow members.

Anyhow I've updated the thread and will add you later on when I go on it around 9 ish

This game can be so cruel at times but damn if it's not fun!

I'm currently charging the 3DS as I forgot to leave it on the charging stand for a couple of days so I might pop on later if it's got some juice left.

Ill be on it til the next version arrives. Played the ds and Wii versions to death and this version has the best online yet. No badge Creator this time round though.

Well I played a few games late last night with addy and some others (non-AVF members I think) and I'm sure he can confirm how absolutely pants I was. I finished last pretty much every race (I think my best finish was around 4th), although to be fair, I haven't yet unlocked the better carts/upgrades as I haven't even finished the 50cc races yet so clearly I was somewhat disadvantaged!

Anyway, it was good fun so I hope to see more of you on there.

Lol i wouldnt worry about it. Its all good fun. Once you know the tracks better then it all cimes down to luck with the power ups. I always seem to place well on the retro tracks as i know them well but quite often still get hammered by stars, bullets etc.
