I bought a used DS Lite (checked it out and it was mint) on the 20th of July, it was to be my daughters birthday present (27th August).
So time comes to give it to her and she uses it for a short while, then I notice the top screen starts mucking about, changing the positions helps but soon it becomes unbearable, now it's totally unusable.
Now I live in Finland so taking it back personally is a bit of a chore, though I did pay with Visa. Anyway I gave them a call today and gave them all the details that are on the receipt, they said I have to send the defective item to a relative, also send my credit card and tell the relative my PIN number for them to process a refund.
I offered to send the item (at my expense) and have them force a refund through visa when they receive the item, they said they can't do this due to a fraud possibility
So I suppose the only thing I can do now is force a chargeback through VISA, unless anyone here has any advice?
Just observing from abroad these days, it seems that "FRAUD" is a very popular getout clause when dealing with UK companies.
