DS is bust after i changed the case. Help

Hi all, after the original case cracked ion the hinges, i bought a replacement and swapped it all over. It went very smoothly, but when i push the power button on the light lights up the top screen flashes and then nothing.

Any ideas on what i might have done? I was thinking maybe the ribbon connector was put back slightly out of alignment maybe?

Thanks for any help.

IIRC it sounds like you've blown one of the internal fuses. If you can solder then they can be easily bypassed (with wire) or replaced (about 50p each on ebay).

I think there was a thread about it somewhere here but I can't remember where .. .. .. there may even be diagrams and links for parts if you can find it.

Re: DS is bust after i changed the case. Help

Can 95% confirm that it will be the the ribbon cable that joins the top screen to the main board, its really tricky to get it connected and working.
The cable must be seated fully into the ribbon connector, it drove me mad for 45 mins lol
got there in the end.

Regarding the rounded screw can u get to it or is it in one of the ones's in the outer case that drops into the deeper hole?
If it is then have no idea waht to do there other wise u might be able to grind the screww head of with a dremel type drill.
My mate had to do this as his did exactly the same thing but was in the battery compartment and was able to remove the screw head.
Good luck
