My missus picked one of these up the other week. Quality will vary a lot so shop around your local game/gamestation stores to find one in decent nick.

As with Uridiums previous answer, no doubt varies on what people have traded in so best just to ask. Sounds like an average price for the original DS, would have thought you could possibly get cheaper with a bit of hunting.

You could always try posting a Wanted ad in the classified section of the forum, mentioning what you've already seen, someone may offer you a better bargain or a bundle with games, worth a try http://www.avforums.com/forums/gamin...ified-adverts/

Hope you don't mind but I've ammended(or rather added to) your thread title slightly as it looked a bit like you were trying to sell one.

Yeah ill have a fish around. Popping into portsmouth tomorrow will go in cex as well and see what they got in there.

Hmmmmm if i can get a cracking good mint condition one for 39:99 ill buy it straight away. Any difference to the lite apart from the brighter screen or the dsi???? Or is it a heafty bit of money saved as i wouldnt be using it too often?

Re: Nintendo ds(original) £39.99, worth it?

We've had numerous probs with DS Lites (cracked hinges, touch screens becoming faulty etc) but I can't recall a similar level of attrition with the orig DS. That said, they were ugly.

£40 sounds a pretty average price tbh, would have thought £30-£35 would be bargain territory for a fully working one.

I would be looking for 1 in very good if not mint condition lol would it be a hard find?

I think 39:99 for something thats the same as 149:99 is very good to be honest. And the bigger ds fitter better in my hands wernt afraid to drop it compared to the lite

Agree with the above, a couple other things worth mentioning, the d-pad of the original phat DS was also vastly superior to the horrid tough plastic one found on the DS Lite. Also the speakers of the DS Lite are crap when compared with the original, not even close.

So yes, if you don't mind the looks then there are quite a few advantages to the original DS. The best thing about the Lite aside from design for me was the brightness of the screen, much better for playing outside or in bright light conditions.

DS Lite is £100 DSI (new one) is £150 which has the built-in camera etc.

The DS phat is fine, I would just pick one up if I were you and get yourself a decent flashcart. <£50 and you've got yourself a handful of fun

DsLite is good enough. The extra cost of the DSI isn't worth it.
