Just a couple of comments on the above post...
I have also bought the GT7000 after checking all the reviews of the HD700X.
By some order confusion, I purchased both by accident and both were delivered. Thus I had the good fortune of testing both side by side
Have to say that there is nothing wrong with the keystone (vertical) correction. I have used the projector from 5 metres away on the floor and the ceiling (about 2.6m high) - it worked fine with lots of adjustment still left - so i don't know how much more u would need to adjust the picture if you are using this inside a house erwee? There is no horizontal keystone correction and i think this is what you are referring to, but thats no trainsmash as long as u centre the projector adequately (which is what u would normally do anyway).
There is very little difference between the HD700X and GT7000. Only on full brightness setting do u notice the very very slightly brighter GT,but in even a dim environment u wouldnt set it to that maximum anyway. The contrast difference is also very slight especially once u have adjusted all your own settings, u find that unless u know which one is which, u cannot tell the difference. We did this by switching off one at a time and seeing if we could guess which has the higher contrast ratio. We couldnt tell.
In the end, my cousin who was helping me test both projectors decided he was going to buy the other one from me so I didnt have to return it. We used PS3, Sky HD, Blueray and normal DVD to test. And tested in varying room lights from daytime with curtains closed all the way to pitch black at night.
Speakers that come with it are small but adequate. Its loud enough to hear everything, but not good enough to make the sound match the picture. However I agree with erwee that they are no replacement for proper home cinema setup.
I have mounted mine using a universal mount off ebay for £25. Works fine, but wont really suit your purpose erwee, perhaps for a cheaper solution just make a dedicated shelf in both rooms, or mount on a base with industrial velcro so u can just rip off or stick when needed.
Conclusion:
Depends on the price of HD700X and GT7000, if you can get a good deal maybe under £390, rather go with the HD, but if its less than £40 between the 2, then the GT is the better option. The bag is very practical (even as a laptop bag), and the speakers are a good portable set for any purpose.
In both cases, the replacement lamps are quite affordable (under £100).
