Got my Sanyo Z3 - first impressions

Well, after wiring up my DRH Slimline240 screen and firing up the Sanyo we settled down to watch 'Sky Pilot and the World Of Tomorrow', having saved it for when the projector would be up and running. What a mistake that was. It's a terrible film. Still, the picture was nice and big (8ft by 4ft, or there abouts) so at least that part was a success. After twiddling with a lot of settings I came to the conclusion that the defaults were really as good as anything else. The only thing I ultimately changed was reducing the bulb to low to reduce the fan noise to virtually non-existent.

Big thumbs up to the screen and projector, big thumbs down to the movie. The next thing to try is my Lumagen and HDMI inputs, see if that improves on the component feed it's currently connected with, directly from the Pany S97.
The only other thing was the smell of the screen. Sort of concentrated beach ball smell, if that makes any sense? Hopefully that will fade with time.

Regards

Mark

I feel sorry for you.

You set up the pride and joy and the first film you watch is Sky Pilot and the World Of Tomorrow!

At least the only way is up now

The smell of the screen will fade quiet quickly.

I'm glad your enjoying it. Have fun.

Its alright for some! I'm glad you like your new toy... that film is bad! You should try a Pixar film, that's what I'm going to do when I get my PJ
