I had a look and need to potentially dismantle the 3 LCD colours as the dust is not reachable just by blowing between them. Would I be doing any harm by reverse engineering the dismantling procedure when re-assembling. I'm thinking of things like alignment of the RGB, Focus etc etc

It's your own business but my advice is DON'T DO IT !!!!!
The chances of you getting the three LCD panels back in place properly converged is remote, to say the least. I have read of one enthusiast who dismantled the optics of an AE100 and managed to get it back together (after a few unsuccessful attempts), but I wouldn't be encouraged by this. The chances are you'd continually have misconverged panels and never get them "lined up" again. Without a service manual I can't advise you on the dismantling procedure, but you should be able to get at the main circuitboard with three ribbon cables which go to each of the three LCD panels - this is the place to try blowing out any dust, making sure not to spray any propellant in there....
My 2c..............
