jjcool,
Hi.... I sincerely hope that your local porn shop sells porn......................

while your local pawn shop might indeed have a projector from time to time.....
Anyway, if the projector you're referring to looks like
This One, then it's a hell of a lot older that 2 years old, more like 7 or 8, it probably predates the three-panel LCD models from Sharp (such as the 380H), and that was about in 1997...... In the mid to late 90s Sharp had a wide range of LCD projectors in the home cinema market It might be worth having for curiosity sake..... it has a single LCD panel in it, but you should bear in mind that the replacement lamps are about £275 + VAT.
Have a look at
This One or
This One on eBay and see how the seller gets on, might give you an idea of how much the market thinks they're worth. The second ad includes the following gem :"Features include: A newly developed, high-reliability, high-contrast (100:1) LCD panel,"

, doubtless culled from whatever blurb is available for the projector.............. by comparison to projectors available for the last couple of years, it'd probably look cack. If there was loads of life left in the lamp and you were getting it at a real bargain price it would get you watching a big screen but.................It really depends on the price..............
If you wanted to get into front projection at a budget price, then a secondhand AE100 or similar from the For Sale forums here could be yours for about £400 from time to time, or if you could stretch to about £560, there's a thread showing you how to get your hands on a new Infocus X1 for about that price. Either would be a very decent starting point, and imo, far preferable to the Sharp in question.
How much does the pawn shop want for it ?
All the best.
Sean G.
