Smile just buillt diy sub using bk electronics amp

hi this is my first post. i have just built a subwoofer using a bk electronics
bsbpv300 amp i bought off ebay and i bought a monolith 12" driver from bk
the cabinate is a sealed encloshure made from mdf 36mm thick i have finnished it with oak veneer i am very pleased with the results it goes much louder deeper
and sounds much more faster and musical than my rel strata 2.
i have removed the amp from the rel strata 2 for a look at it for comparison to my bk amp and have seen on the main pcb of the strata it says "bk electronics
strata main pcb" it also says bk electronics on its toriodel transformer i hope to post some pics.soon.

BK have had a hand in designing/manufacturing a good chunk of the Rel range over the year. I'm very much looking forward to seeing some pictures of your new toy, what made you choose the Monolith driver and why put it in a sealed cabinet?

I understand that it was optimised for the Monolith enclosure which is vented.

JBJ sounds like you've done some excellent work... Can we see some pictures? Would you be able to give us an idea of what it cost exactly to build? Thanks!

That looks great
Did BK give you any T&S parameters or suitable cabinet volumes or was the cabinet size you used a random one?

You have disadvantaged yourself in a very unfortunate way. Without a steady stream of pies manufactured by your wife and her rolling pin, how can you possibly expect to enjoy a movie?

Further more, she will now spend less time in the kitchen, which will result in you being asked more stupid plot related questions. Such as, when 30 seconds into the film, she will ask: Is the guy in the spectacles a baddy? Is he the same guy as the other blonde guy? They all look the same. Etc, etc....

I fear your dedicated DIY may have indeed decreased your future viewing pleasure. May I suggest a greater degree of forward planning and a trip to B&Q.

Yours, concerned with quality film enjoyment

Russell
