See what's coming with BD-J (Blu-Ray Java) !!

More info on BD-J here;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BD-J

Examples below from Independence Day Blu-Ray US version produced by Van Ling.

1st video shows some really cool features:

Pull down menu for detailed scene selection within a chapter

Personal bookmarking for scenes which include auto descriptions of the scene - much easier for finding that PQ / AQ reference scene to demo

Keyword searching of scenes

Menu audio mute option;

(Don't worry about the quick cuts in the first 20 secs of each video, it's a preview of what is to come).

2nd video shows the Alien Scavenger Hunt game, not really my thing but innovative nonetheless;

3rd video
shows pop up text & photo commentary features (sort of like that old music programme that was on C4 I think and showed pop up text on the artists during the song)

Also when talking about the future he mentions possibility of sharing bookmarks etc over the internet, for example for students.

Overall it looks an impressive disc.

If I see other examples from different titles, I will post them on this thread and would encourage anyone else to as well.

Cheers.

Perhaps because the guy that reviewed it is an HD-DVD enthusiast .....

Anyway each to their own but I think it looks good and I'm anticipating what may be forthcoming on future discs.

52 chapters = Awesome but what's the point when we can't go to a chapter group directly ? Owners of this disc will know what I am talking about.
