Monty Python’s Life of Brian: The Immaculate Edition - Blu-Ray

Various sites are reporting that Python's Life Of Brian will be released in the USA on the 6th of November.

Extras include:

- The Story of Brian – An All-New Hour-Long Revelation from Monty Python
- The Readthrough – An original illustrated 110 minute recording by The Pythons of their early screenplay in progress
- Four illustrated vintage theatrical radio ads featuring the voices of Mrs. Cleese, Mrs. Idle, Mrs. Gilliam and Michael Palin’s dentist
- Deleted Scenes:
“Shepherds” (digitally enhanced)
“Pilate’s Wife”
“Otto”
“The Sign that is the Sign”
“Souvenir Salesman”
- Audio Commentary with Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle & Terry Jones
- Audio Commentary with John Cleese & Michael Palin

As this is a Sony Catalogue title, it should be Region Free.

Re: Monty Python’s Life of Brian: The Immaculate Edition - Blu-Ray

Following the link above, sorry to go (very slightly) off topic but I've never ordered anything from Amazon.com

I understand that if you keep below a purchase figure (£18 is it?) that you don't have to pay import duty, but could someone from the UK let me know what Amazon typically charge for delivery of a Blu-Ray to the UK and how long it would take please?

According to HDD, this has been pulled along with 'I Know Who Killed Me' .

Now, however, Sony has pulled the unlikely duo from its 2007 Blu-ray calendar.

No reason was given for the delay, but Sony did confirm to us that neither title is cancelled outright, and that the studio does plan to release both at some point in the future.

Re: Monty Python’s Life of Brian: The Immaculate Edition - Blu-Ray

This looks like a port over of the extras-packed Criterion edition of the movie. As far as I know this was the only release of the movie (until now) to contain the deleted scenes, which, for a change, really are worth seeing.

Otto the Jewish Nazi is hilarious (not to mention quite daring) and the Pilate's wife scene is hilarious. The dual audio commentary tracks are excellent too with some of the Pythons having totally opposing opinions on many aspects of the movie.

Well worth getting when it comes out.

I'll certainly be stumping up for this.

Looks good - that price from Sendit is excellent Even better DVD Times has confirmed that this disc will be released with all the new SD DVD extras.

Do we think this release is likely to be region free? I am technically BluRay multi-region (Sony Region A player and PS3 Region B) but have held off buying B encoded discs to date. That said at under £12 I may well reconsider my position

Edit: I've reconsidered my position and ordered it

Re: Monty Python’s Life of Brian: The Immaculate Edition - Blu-Ray

I would not assume all US Sony Pictures catalogue titles are multi region. I go my SM Trilogy today and all are coded A, despite the fact two films are both 'catalogue' and are available as ABC in other regions!

Movietyme say that the US versions of S1 & S2 are Region Free but the 3rd is coded.

"Just to prove how insane Region Coding has become... we have now tested The Spider-man Trilogy boxset and can report:

Spider-man 1 - Region Free

Spider-man 2 - Region Free

Spider-man 3 - not region free !!

...so even though 2 out of the 3 movies do not contain Region Coding we have to classify the whole box set as not region free."
