Wings of Honneamise (Both)

The Replacement Killers (BD only)

Deliverance (Both)
Jailhouse Rock (Both)
Smallville: The Complete Sixth Season (Both)
Troy: Director's Cut (Both)

We Are Marshall (Both)

Elizabeth (HD DVD only)
For Love of the Game (HD DVD only)
The Last Starfighter (HD DVD only)
Saturday Night Fever (HD DVD only)

COMMENT: This is a very tough one to call. The dual-format back-catalogue titles look quite strong, and may well 'swamp' the figures. But how well will 'The Condemned' do? That's a bit of an unknown. My Pick of the Week - 'A Few Good Men'.

September the 25th

Blu-ray Disc

Gods and Generals (Both)
Gothika (Both)
The Wild Bunch (Both)
Wyatt Earp (Both)

Black Book (BD only)
Memoirs of a Geisha (BD only)
Tekkonkinkreet (BD only)
Underworld (BD only)

HD DVD

Gods and Generals (Both)
Gothika (Both)
The Wild Bunch (Both)
Wyatt Earp (Both)

Freedom: 2 (HD DVD only) ** Bandai Visual is officially neutral, but this title is only coming out on HD DVD today.
Cat People (1982) (HD DVD only)
Evening (HD DVD only)
Knocked Up (HD DVD only)
Next (HD DVD only)
Patch Adams (HD DVD only)
The Getaway (1994) (HD DVD only)

COMMENT: A smashing week all round. It'll probably be dominated by 'Knocked Up', but there are a couple of interesting BD-only back catalogue titles in 'Memoirs...' and 'Underworld', as well as 'Black Book'. My pick of the week - 'The Wild Bunch'.

EAOE

See you all next month.

Re: Releases for September

Not a great deal for me in September, which is just aswell considering the money i've laid out of late.

Out of those titles i have Black Book and Deliverance (Blu-Ray) on pre-order. I also have the UK HD-DVD Matrix Trilogy on pre-order which is due in September. I wasn't particularly bothered about all 3 flicks initially, but for the bargain price of £17.89 at Sendit, it was too good to pass up.

I will pick Nip/Tuck Season 4 up at some point but as i still haven't watched seasons 2 & 3 on SD-DVD, i can hang on a while longer.

Re: Releases for September

Oh and if you are HD DVD only and want Underworld, it's out in Germany on September 3rd. Bit steep though at 25 euros (With shipping about £25)

I think I've pre-ordered it, but can't be sure as Google translate didn't work too well on amazon.de

Re: Releases for September

I'll be picking up Wings of Honneamise, The Wild Bunch and Black Book. Maybe Tekkokinkreet too.

The rest is all stuff I wouldn't buy at full price.

Elizabeth is a great film - I'm hoping the new sequel, The Golden Age, will also make it to high def before too long.

Hopefully, but whatever, I'm off to the flicks to see it in November
