The Matrix HD DVD

Sincere apologies if this is an old chestnut - I did search!

Got my Superman Returns HD-DVD combo disc today. Looks lovely, just be needing the 360 add on to actually watch it.

Anyway, in the enclosed Warners advert leaflet, it's got The Matrix down for release on HD-DVD Summer 2006. Have I missed something?

I'd buy that film in a heartbeat...

Just the first one. Picture of the cover and everything. The leaflet definitely says 2006 and the other films on the flier are already out I think.

Re: The Matrix HD DVD

No, it's been in lots of WB discs going back as far as Million Dollar Baby. It will appear, but when is a good question.

The HD releases are being announced either reasonably in advance, or in some cases, about 3 days before hand. X-Men on Blu-Ray was announced roughly 2 weeks before the release date.

I have to say, there is an element of them not getting their act together on release dates but hopefully that will get better.

Re: The Matrix HD DVD

this is pretty much the only title that is now annoying me. To be fair to Warner they have had a great set of titles out on HDDVD when the format is still starting, but if they weren't planning on releasing The Matrix, then they shouldn't put it in their leaflets.

I can understand it being in initial releases if they were going to bring it out but then changed their minds. But its even in very recent releases and they've had plenty of time to change the leaflet or even remove it.
