Aerial Advice for 2012 switch over

Hi everyone

I am looking to install two outdoor tv aerials one for a house the other on a cottage which are on the same plot of land. The location is is about 4 miles outside eastbourne. Digital switchover is not until 2012 in this area, i have made some enquiries and it seems their is some confusion about which transmitter i will be recieving the signal from. There is a transmitter in hastings which is 13 miles away and a transmitter in heathfield which 10 miles away.

Analogue reception is atrocious with indoor aerials,
i have some questions
what outdoor aerials should i use ?
how do i place my aerials when i am unsure in the future which transmitter i will be receiving digital from ?
im kinda at a lost on how to proceed.

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Darren.

Re: Aerial Advice for 2012 switch over

I would suppose that your best bet is to consult a local aerial fitter. Point your aerial at the transmitter giving the best results now. I would assume that one, if not both of these transmitters is also already transmitting Freeview. If this is not successful then it is no big deal to turn the aerial to point at the other transmitter and re-tune your tv. Bear in mind that when switch-off comes the Freeview signal strength will be considerably increased in most parts of the country.

if you buy something like a unix 32 wideband then it won't matter if you have to change direction if you can get to the aerial yourself then all well and good but if you need help it should not cost the earth to change
