15 channels after the switchover.

Anyone else think people in a situation like this should pay less license fees. Atm we only have C1-4 no 5 because they won't update the repeater station, said the next one will be freeview in 2011. Just checked the site and it says that we'll only get 15 channels after the switchover. Such a scam, and I don't live anywhere remote at all, just 10 miles north of Leeds/Bradford.

The license fee is for the ownership of a device capable of receiving broadcast television via Cable, Terrestrial or Satellite (at this time, no doubt IP will be included sooner or later).

In this respect you channel lineup is irrelevant on your chosen method of reception as there are alternatives especially in terms of access to channels that don't get a penny of the license fee passed on via the government.

I'll test freesat when I go home at Christmas, but we used to have sky and it used to always break up, either the box was crappy or it's because there are a number of trees in the way, will try anyway.

Oh dear you are not in the best of positions are you If you put in your postcode here, and select Astra 2, enable the obstacle detector it will tell you how far away an object is higher than the dish needs to be before you can see over it.
