Question channel 5 Guide+/EPG puzzle

Having performed the full retune of my Pioneer DVD recorder, I found the usual problems, ie channel 5, ITV 3, 4 missing. When selecting channel 5 a message appears stating that channel 5 has moved. This was using the Guide+ system.
However, after switching to EPG, I discovered that all channels are working. Can anyone suggest how to correct the Guide+ system, which is still incorrect?

I wouldn't have thought you could correct the Guide Plus system - won't you just have to wait for whoever operates it to catch up with the channel changes post retuning? By the way, what happens to Guide Plus when analogue is switched off - since it is received via ITV1?

Re: channel 5 Guide+/EPG puzzle

Yes, I suppose that's possible but I had assumed that 13 days after the changes it would be up to date. I had not appreciated that guide+ and epg were 2 separate systems supplying different data.
Are there any guide + users out there with either the same problem, or a fully functioning guide+ menu? It would be good to know if the problem is indeed with guide+ or a setting on my recorder.

Re: channel 5 Guide+/EPG puzzle

Well the Guideplus on my Phillips 5570 is still incorrect .. If i select channel5 via guideplus it goes to channel800 ??. Also channel Itv2 and +1 are also fubar.
I can select channel5 manually but this means that setting recordings for channel5 becomes very tedious. Plus the disk draw wont open and close properly..
This seems to be the problem with GuidePlus.... infrequent updates .. or even updates that are well past overdue. It makes me think it will def NOT be on my list when I buy a Hi-def freeview recorder. I would urge others to take note as well!
There is no seperate EPG on the Philips.

Then I suggest you contact the people at Guideplus and tell them to take their heads out of their assess and amend their EPG system to point to the correct chunk of bandwidth on the correct multiplex (instead of just continually moaning here about it)!

This is a Guideplus problem and has absolutely nothing to do with digital terrestrial television!
