Re: two seperate dvb tuners lost all itv and bbc channels at same time..

Most channels were down in the NW area, except analogue C5 and "Dave" on Freeview. The previous night I missed the end of a Gillian Anderson film on C4+1 when the signal died.

I don't recall any TV announcement about it but, after searching deep into the BBC website, it seems they're doing work at Winter Hill:

Quote:
8-10 September 2009: Engineering work is taking place over these three days at the Winter Hill transmitter that serves the North West of England (Liverpool, Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire and north Staffordshire). The work is in preparation for digital switchover and means that services on both analogue TV and Freeview will be unavailable for certain periods, as follows:

Tuesday 8 September: BBC services on Freeview unavailable for about three hours from 1.05am
Overnight Tuesday/Wednesday 8/9 September: all services (both analogue TV and Freeview) unavailable for about five hours from midnight
Overnight Wednesday/Thursday 9/10 September: analogue services unavailable for about five hours from 12.20am
