Sky digibox for freeview

Hi, I have Sky+ in the living room with a digital/HD tv and a magic eye connection to a non digital tv in the bedroom. I still have the old Sky (Pace) digibox - can I use this in the bedroom to convert the tv to receive Freewiew channels and if so how?
Thanks
Rob

Re: Sky digibox for freeview

You cannot use a satellite box of any kind to watch Freeview. Freeview is a terrestial service delivered through a conventional aerial.

But you can still use the Sky box to receive the FTA channels which are broadcast over satellite without a viewing card though no? So whilst not technically ' freeview' still receive most the channels..

Thanks, The FTA channels look OK - would appreciate some advice as to how I should connect the digibox and tune it. I have the Sky remote controls that used to be with it. Magic eye and second (non digital) TV are now controlled by a Sky+ remote.

Indeed, but the OP was going to connect an aerial (via the Sky+ box) to it, which won't work.

Since you have Sky+, you will have a quad LNB on the dish (i.e., 4 outputs -- two currently being used for Sky+), you can therefore run a new cable from the dish to your second TV location and Pace digibox to get the FTA channels.

Alternatively, if you have a rooftop aerial connected to the Sky+ box, you could buy a cheap Freeview digibox to use with your second TV.
