digital aerials ?

digital aerials ?

At the moment i dont have an external ariael as ive got sky intalled but im dumping sky(too expensive) and switching to freeview so im getting quotes for ariaels and one guy i spoke to rcommended i get two ariaels fitted one for the main tv in the room and one for the rest of the house (3 bedrooms) does this make sense or am i being conned no-one in my street seems to have two ariaels.

i've been looking for an aerial to and the one's i've seen some pictures on the websites where they have 1 aerial that goes into a bos and then upto 4 cables for your rooms off that.

That depends on the signal strength in your area. While it may be possible to connect a single aerial to 4 TVs it might not get a signal strong or consistant enough to simply split it. At my house we have a rediculouly strong signal that is shared between several rooms and still actually needs WEEKENERS to give a good freeview signal. When I lived in Edinburgh however the signal was pretty poor and needed boosters and some very fine tuning on the positioning of the aerial to get freeview. Basically what I can say is get some second opinions from technicians who work in your area and see if they say it'll work fine with one or you'd need two. Also bear in mind that there is always freesat as well, which you should be able to get with your existing dish, or at least you will for "Freesat from Sky" (there are two competing services called "freesat" and "freesat from sky", confusing I know, which are both free satellite TV services, so you should look into them both and the requirements as I'm no expert)

Thanks Boon 72 and Alphathon for your replys............ the ariael seems to work fine at the moment on its own and thanks for the info on freesat will look into that
