Hi Guys

Just unpacked my shiny new TZ7 and I'm eagerly wading through the 130 page manual.

Problem: I can't see how to get the date stamped onto the photo. I can see where you set it for printing purposes, but I would like it to be stamped onto the image itself, as I don't print that many photographs.

I have I missed something?

Digital cameras automatically store the time and date (together with lots of other info such as shutter speed, aperture, camera model etc) whenever you take a photo. This information is known as EXIF data.

You don't have to do anything special to enable this, other than making sure that you've set the camera's clock!

Pretty much any software which you use to view the images on your PC will let you see this data.

I think you would struggle to find a camera that automatically add the time/ date onto the photo itself as some old cameras did as it is the devils own job to get rid of them all if it is set by accident where as, as Dolcevita says, the date time is stored in the photo file itself even if it isnt visibile and it is much easier to add it yourself than to remove it after.
