Question Compact under £50 ?

Hi all,

My brother is looking to buy his first digital compact camera - he has been using throw away film cameras to date

He doesn't want to spend over £50 - I know we are scraping the bottom of the barrel here !

Is there a camera you can recommend that fits the bill ?
Maybe a special offer you have come across or something ?

Thanks for your help.

How about a Fujifilm A850? £60

http://www.jessops.com have it for £59.

Some reviews on Amazon:

Amazon.co.uk: Customer Reviews: Fujifilm Finepix A850 Digital Camera - Black (8.1MP, 3x Optical Zoom) 2.5" LCD

You'll end up buying some rechargeable batteries (2500mAh should do it) and charger though. Don't forget to add the cost of memory card too.

No idea if it's any good, but I do like Fujifilm, my last two compacts have been that brand (I still use a Fujifilm F30).

Re: Compact under £50 ?

Thanks for the Fuji suggestion.

I have come across the canon A470 for £49 - does anyone have any experience and/or comments on this one ?
