Nikon afs dx 35mm f1.8g buying advice

I'm interested in buying the Nikon af-s dx 35mm f1.8g, to compliment the kit lens on my D40, can someone recommend a reliable supplier or know where it can be found on discount?

You can't get much more reliable than Grays of Westminster. They have the 35mm f/1.8 advertised at £189 in their 'specials' section. Link below:

Wow! You're right. No discounts of more than a tenner at the moment, and yes Grays are matching that.

I'll second that recommendation of Grays of course Very upmarket Nikon only specialist (my 105VR came from there when there were only about 12 in the country - Grays pretty much get first shout)

Re: Nikon afs dx 35mm f1.8g buying advice

Well thats spooky. Just this afternoon I trekked across London and bought this very lens from Grays. What an odd little shop in the back of beyond (well Pimlico), tiny old fashioned wooden cabinets stuffed with Nikon *gear*. I broke out in a cold sweat just looking around.

The price seems a pretty good deal, always prefer to inspect and pay in person. Will post some first impressions as soon as poss.

BTW, its all Paulie-W's fault I had just had to buy one

Cheers

Tezza

Re: Nikon afs dx 35mm f1.8g buying advice

My GF's brother got married two weeks ago in Cyprus, it was the only excuse I needed to buy this lense lol. It was only my 3rd "event" using my D40 (1100 photos shot gotta luv burst) but I kept the 35mm on for the whole time.

There's a small gallery of selected shots The Wedding of Yioti and Caroline Smith but please forgive any dodgy/soft shots they are more likely to be my fault than the 35mm.

Just do it!
